Gregg Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church

Rev. Preston Boyd was appointed by Bishop John Richard Bryant as the eighteenth Pastor of Gregg Memorial A.M.E Church on August 23, 2015. Prior to his appointment, Rev. Boyd was a member of Oak Grove A.M.E. Church, where he served on the ministerial staff.

Pastor Boyd is married to The Rev. Ale Jean Boyd, the love of his life, and as of May 2015 they have been married for 37 years. Together, they are working in God’s vineyard doing the work of the one true God who loves us all like no other.

Rev. Boyd is pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree at Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit, MI. Prior to answering his call to enter into the work of the Lord, Pastor Boyd worked for three Fortune 500 Corporations; Ford Motor Credit, Ford Motor Company, and Daimler Trucks North America.

Pastor Boyd has been blessed to study and learn under what he considers two dynamic Pastors in the A.M.E. Church, the Rev. Dr. Robert Brumfield at Oak Grove A.M.E., whose preaching and teaching helped awaken the call on his life, and the Rev. Barbara Anthony, retired founder and former Pastor of Mitcham Chapel A.M.E. Church, where under her tutelage he completed his Ministry Practicum in 2015.

Since being appointed to Gregg Memorial, Pastor Boyd has been focused on teaching, preaching, and focusing the church on the needs of the community, and preparing the church to do outreach ministry, and bring Christ to those in need of union with our Lord and Savior.
